Alan McDaniel, Classic StringsHey Thomas, this is Alan McDaniel, arguably the best guitar player in Dallas with his Classic Strings print. Alan has played with several bands over the years including Kenny and The Kasuals, The New Bohemians and The Brainiacs. Most recently Alan plays as a solo act at several Dallas venues including Terilli's, Smoky Rose, Lake House White Rock and The Balcony Club. His style is a masterful blend of his influences ... Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tommy Emmanuel and David Gilmour. Your Classic Strings was a gift from his friend "Toast", an audio engineer from Austin. Toast worked on Austin City Limits for a time and is now a freelance sports mixer for Fox Sports and ESPN. Alan was performing at Turtle Creek Arts Festival in November when he saw your work for the first time. He was enchanted by the piece Classic Strings. Toast purchased the work and surprised Alan with it for Christmas. He was taken aback and elated to receive it. The painting inspired Alan to get a photo with all his "kids".

Jesse & Yolanda Reyes, Alabama TributeJesse & Yolanda Reyes from Plano, TX purchased this Alabama Tribute painting for their son-in-law during Thanksgiving weekend when they met me in downtown McKinney. This is a picture of their son-in-law Trey with the painting and they provided a short and very interesting history with the picture.
This painting was a birthday present for Trey Waldrep, a 2010 graduate of the University of Alabama and son of Kent Waldrep. In 1974, Kent was a football player for Texas Christian University when he was paralyzed in a game against the University of Alabama. Legendary Alabama coach Paul "Bear" Bryant took special interest in Kent. In 1973, Bryant established an endowed scholarship fund that benefited the children of his former players. In 2006, Trey received the Bryant Scholarship to attend the University of Alabama. It was the first time the child of a Tide opponent had received the scholarship. Trey, Kent, and his brother, Charley were extremely impressed with the painting. Trey just cannot stop talking about it.
An amazing story for sure. I am so very glad you all enjoy the painting. Thanks Again. -- Tom

Sallie & Jeff Fortney, Vikings TributeFrom very happy Vikings Fans Sallie & Jeff Fortney. "We want to thank you both for inviting us into your home, especially on a Friday night around 9:00, and giving us a tour of your gallery and special treasures. We loved being up close, and so many to see. Like Karen said, almost everyone has a favorite team, and you represented a lot of them. I am enjoying my painting and showing pictures of it to other fans...even the "non-viking" ones. My phone, of course, doesn't do it justice, but I tell them about it...the detail and the research you put into each painting. Jeff hung my painting and framed the roster so that I could be reminded of who is who. With each game and each win, we are getting more excited about our trip to the new stadium. We will send you some pictures of the stadium, if we take any good ones."
Thanks again, Sallie & Jeff Fortney
